The BYU Trumpet Studio has a rich tradition of producing leading trumpet artists and educators. Our alumni have gone on to attend graduate school at The Juilliard School, the University of Michigan, Arizona State University, UCLA, The Florida State University, and other leading programs. BYU trumpet graduates have performed as members of the United States Army Band "Pershings Own," the Santiago Philharmonic, Verbier Festival Orchestra, Music Academy of the West, Dallas Opera, and Orchestra at Temple Square with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. BYU trumpet students have won the International Trumpet Guild Solo, Orchestral Excerpts, and Jazz competitions, the National Trumpet Competition, MTNA Young Artist Solo and Chamber Music Divisions, and other leading competitions. BYU graduates have also taught at the University of Florida, University of Southern Mississippi, the University of Utah, and the University of North Texas, among other established music programs. This rich tradition continues to be developed today under the leadership of Dr. Jason Bergman and Dr. Seretta Hart.
